Overview

Huntsman is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Advanced Materials Division in Los Angeles, California. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring safe and reliable manufacturing operations through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, vibration, alignment issues, and other conditions that could affect reliability or safety.
  • Identify developing equipment issues and take or recommend corrective action before failure occurs.
  • Perform lubrication, adjustments, component replacement, rebuilds, and other routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, determine causes, and safely restore equipment to service.
  • Respond to breakdowns, urgent maintenance needs, and emergency call-ins to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems involving various industrial equipment.
  • Repair, replace, rebuild, and adjust mechanical equipment and components.
  • Perform equipment alignment, piping repairs, welding, fabrication, and related work.
  • Verify equipment is safe and ready for return to service following maintenance.
  • Support equipment installation, modification, relocation, and commissioning.
  • Identify and support improvements to equipment safety, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, equipment conditions, labor, and parts in the applicable CMMS/EAM system.
  • Read and use equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Identify required parts, materials, and tools and maintain organized work areas and equipment.
  • Follow site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, permits, and safe work practices.
  • Use required PPE and respiratory protection and follow applicable requirements for confined spaces, work at heights, hot work, and elevated work platforms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum four years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with industrial mechanical equipment such as pumps, seals, bearings, gearboxes, valves, piping, pneumatics, hydraulics, mixers, and compressors.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, schematics, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of industrial maintenance safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills and ability to accurately complete required documentation.
  • Must be willing and able to work any assigned shift, including first, second, and third shift, as well as staggered hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, emergency call-ins, and alternative work schedules based on business needs.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Information

  • Position is scheduled Monday through Friday on either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., or 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
  • Work is performed in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment involving production equipment, hazardous and flammable chemicals, utilities, outdoor areas, elevated work areas, and confined spaces.
