Job Description
Overview
The Maintenance Worker I position at Skokie Hospital involves performing maintenance and repair tasks for buildings and grounds as part of the Plan Operations and Management (POM) Team. This full-time, union role requires adaptability to customer needs and a commitment to safety and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
- Repairs various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, and office equipment.
- Performs basic plumbing and basic electric maintenance including ballast and lighting fixture repairs.
- Inspects assigned area routinely and performs maintenance as needed.
- Completes daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Reports on any major maintenance needs and recommends corrective action.
- Demonstrates efficient and safe use of equipment and tools.
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.
- Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
