Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic position at Ferrara involves conducting repairs and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment during overnight shifts. This role is crucial for ensuring the continuous operation of mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs to the physical plant and plant equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing mechanical devices and using precision measuring instruments.
• Install new machinery and equipment using hand and power tools.
• Repair electrical systems by diagnosing malfunctions and inspecting faulty wiring.
• Maintain and troubleshoot high-speed carton machines, bag machines, and related equipment.
• Rebuild machinery as wear and tear occurs.
• Fabricate and repair parts using machine shop instrumentation.
• Adhere to company policies, GMP, and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical systems, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and fork lift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
