The Austin Equipment Yard in Southwest Dallas, Texas is seeking a Shop Technician with expertise in motor graders and excavators to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections of off-rental and incoming equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy construction equipment.
• Execute major and minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and corrective work.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required.
• Disassemble, troubleshoot, and reassemble equipment components.
• Accurately document all inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other technicians regarding equipment condition.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
• Identify potential equipment issues and recommend necessary repairs.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other shop and equipment-related duties as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Shop Technician or similar role.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of motor graders and excavators.
• Proficiency in welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical documents.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings for safety.
• Ability to follow safety rules and supervisor instructions.
• Commitment to jobsite safety.
• High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification.
