Overview

As an Aviation Maintenance Technician at American Airlines, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and timeliness of flights. This position offers opportunities for career advancement and the chance to work alongside talented aviation professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Service aircraft through mechanical work including dismantling, repairing, and maintaining airworthiness.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections.
  • Certify the quality of own workmanship according to maintenance manuals.
  • Connect and remove ground power and ground start units.
  • Push out and tow aircraft while performing guideman functions.
  • Sign mechanical flight releases and airworthiness releases.
  • Maintain knowledge of manuals and maintenance references.
  • Complete forms, records, and reports accurately.
  • Perform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks and clean work areas.
  • Request parts as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Airframe and Power Plant License required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work extra hours as needed.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks.
  • Must secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
