Overview

S&ME is seeking an experienced NDT/NDE Technician, preferably a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), to join their Metals team in Atlanta, Georgia. The role involves ensuring the safety and structural integrity of projects through inspections and non-destructive testing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect structural steel, including bolted and welded connections.
  • Conduct inspections and deploy non-destructive testing methods.
  • Perform ultrasonic inspection (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT) of welds.
  • Manage testing assignments across various projects.
  • Maintain testing equipment and manage calibration records.
  • Create detailed reports to communicate findings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree in a closely related field.
  • Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or working towards it.
  • Achievement of ASNT Level II certification in at least one method.
  • Additional certifications such as ICC certification in Building Inspections or Structural Steel Inspection are a plus.
