Overview

The Electronics Technician is responsible for precision assembly, rework, and test support for advanced electronics in an ESD-controlled lab, primarily aiding the Electrical Engineering team with prototype builds and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform SMT and through-hole soldering, assembly, and rework of printed circuit assemblies.
• Build engineering prototypes and first articles from schematics and assembly drawings.
• Support board bring-up and debug alongside engineers, including basic troubleshooting.
• Fabricate, route, and terminate wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Assemble electronic enclosures and integrated units from mechanical drawings.
• Support Production Operations during LRIP and rate builds.
• Follow controlled work instructions and document completed work.
• Maintain ESD-controlled work areas and assist with calibration tracking.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in electronics technology preferred.
• 5-8 years of hands-on electronics assembly, rework, and harness experience.
• Demonstrated experience with SMT and through-hole soldering.
• Hands-on cable and wire harness assembly experience.
• Experience with box builds or higher-level assemblies.
• Proficient with hand tools, crimpers, and soldering/rework equipment.
• Working familiarity with ESD-controlled environments.
• Basic electronic troubleshooting skills.
• IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721 (CIS level) certification required.
• Current IPC certifications at hire (CIS level) required.
