Overview

Austin Industrial is an industry leader in providing maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Combo Welder/Pipefitter role involves joining metal parts and maintaining pipe systems for various industrial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Weld structure and pipe using FCAW and TIG methods.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
  • Diagnose piping issues and correct them in the field.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Pipefitter.
  • Extensive knowledge of Poly Pro/PVDF piping and welding.
  • Ability to read and understand prints.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools.

It is the workhorse on heavy structural steel and shipbuilding, where thick sections and long welds reward speed.
