Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Instrument Fitter role involves installing and removing various instrumentation to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, and temperature.

Responsibilities

  • Read and work from related blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Install and/or remove various instrumentation devices.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics, and electricity.
  • Cut, bend, and install pipe tubing or conduit for air or process lines for instrument controls.
  • Install instruments, instrument stands, and control wiring to valves.
  • Calibrate recorders, alarms, switches, and other devices.
  • May steam trace lines when necessary.
  • May install flanges and orifice plates.
  • May repair steam traps.
  • Perform other duties necessary to remove, install, or troubleshoot instrumentation devices.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirements.
  • 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
  • NCCER certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.

Additional Information

  • Employees must be able to perform physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various environmental conditions.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
