Overview

JCB, the world’s largest privately owned manufacturer of construction and agricultural equipment, is seeking a Welder for its 2nd shift at the North America headquarters in Pooler, Georgia. The role involves performing advanced welding and fabrication operations to support the production of heavy equipment while ensuring high-quality welds that meet safety and production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding operations including semi-automatic GMAW (MIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and TIG welding as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, fixtures, and fabrication machinery.
  • Perform fabrication tasks including fitting, grinding, cutting, and preparing materials for welding.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Load and unload parts and assemblies using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Operate press brakes, grinders, and other fabrication tools as required.
  • Identify and troubleshoot welding defects and fabrication issues, applying problem-solving techniques.
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and PPE requirements at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with MIG welding (GMAW) and ability to perform consistent, high-quality welds.
  • Ability to pass welding test(s) and pre-employment requirements (drug screen, background, etc.).

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle.
