Overview

At Sabre Industries, we connect and power America’s communities with world-class utility and telecom solutions. This position performs production within prescribed codes, and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings, requiring completion of the Welder Training Program.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and display ownership for work.
  • Adapt to ambiguity and change effectively.
  • Support continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies.
  • Follow general safety guidelines and quality expectations.
  • Use Flux Cored Arc Welding to tack weld components for pole assemblies.
  • Assemble pole assemblies in the Large Pole department.
  • Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed for assembly.
  • Measure distances and angles using tools like measuring tape and level.
  • Use plasma and oxy-fuel torches to cut steel.
  • Utilize motorized grinders and drills for assembly according to specifications.
  • Adjust welding machines to achieve desired results.
  • Finish weld various products to keep production moving.
  • Perform visual inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Use overhead cranes to load finished poles for transportation.
  • Assist and instruct other welders and fitters as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic shop mathematics including addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, and decimals.
  • Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications.
  • Ability to properly use a weld gauge.
  • Read and write.
