Overview

The Welder position involves performing welding for installations, alterations, relocations, and assembly of structured and fabricated steel, as well as modifications required for welding installations. The role requires mechanical tasks to be performed with minimal supervision while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform all mechanical tasks with minimal supervision.
• Read and accurately interpret drawings for equipment installation and alignment.
• Keep materials, tools, and equipment organized and maintain a clean work area.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment.
• Lead or assist in all types of welding installations.
• Fabricate field modifications including welding and assembly.
• Organize materials and tools to maintain a clean work area.
• Accurately interpret mechanical and piping drawings.
• Properly level, plumb, and align equipment and machinery.
• Direct and train helpers and apprentices in proper work practices.

Requirements

• Welding Certification as required for the duties of this position.
• High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience.
• Five years of welding experience.
• Mechanical/equipment knowledge.
• Ability to visualize completed work prior to installation.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and organize tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of and ability to properly give hand signals to operators.
• Ability to work in restrictive/tight areas.
• Ability to lift work loads of 51 lbs.
• Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected).

Additional Information

• May require working in all weather elements depending on job location.
• Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime on short notice.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
