Overview

The Field Tank Welder position requires individuals to perform welding tasks safely and effectively, with a focus on field-erected storage structures. Candidates must possess welding certifications and experience with specific tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties safely.
  • Weld with 7018 and downhill using 6010.
  • Manually move 100 feet of weld lead (70-100 lbs.).
  • Arc gouge as needed.
  • Climb to heights of 160 feet and use tools at that height.
  • Assist in moving steel plates: unloading, loading, hanging, aligning, and fitting.
  • Drive stakes and fit up vertically, round, roof, and bottom seams.
  • Perform bottom breakdowns.
  • Grind weld seams for x-ray preparation and clean plate surfaces.

Requirements

  • Must pass a weld test per AWS or ASME.
  • Experience in constructing field erected storage structures.
  • Proficient in using tools such as hammers, fit up bars, grinders, and chipping hammers.
  • Ability to pass a post-hire physical and substance abuse test.
