Job Description
Overview
Nelson Pipeline is seeking a high-performing, self-motivated experienced Senior Welder to join their team in a dual-role position. The role involves overseeing and working on contracted projects, including the fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metals, structural steel, and the repair and maintenance of third-party equipment.
Responsibilities
- Complete fabrication projects from start to finish with minimal guidance.
- Independently interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and erection drawings.
- Conform to project schedules.
- Make quick and accurate decisions using industry experience.
- Coordinate and keep records of work for job tracking.
- Operate forklifts, man lifts, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles.
- Communicate and work effectively with construction management personnel.
- Repair and fabricate metal components for excavation equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards while working.
- Collaborate closely with team members including operators, mechanics, and supervisors.
- Keep accurate records of welding repairs and maintenance activities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in welding, fabricating, and erection in the construction industry.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Familiarity with MIG and stick welding operations and procedures.
- Experience with material handling via forklift and crane hoist.
- Experience with hand tools and shop tools for cutting, shearing, and drilling.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform fabrication within required tolerances.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and dependable.
