Overview

Chris French Metal, Inc. is seeking a full-time junior fabricator to join their established Architectural Metal company in West Oakland, which has been working on exciting projects in the greater Bay Area for over 20 years.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Leads with assigned projects in accordance with time standards and quality expectations.
  • Assist with the maintenance of current organizational systems.
  • Ensure that personal work area, machines and hand tools are kept clean and tidy.
  • Proper utilization of appropriate PPE.
  • Identify and report health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage.
  • Assist with installs.

Requirements

  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Experience in a fabrication/shop setting.
  • Knowledge of Hand Tools, Material Handling Equipment and common Shop Machinery.
  • Knowledge of means and methods associated with Sawing, Machining, Welding, Finishing and Patina.
  • Ability to interact with Staff, Clients, and Vendors in a professional manner.
  • Great collaborative skills.
  • Great ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Great verbal, text, and email communication.
  • Great time management skills.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time position, (4) 10 hour days, Monday – Thursday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Shop environment may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and toxic materials.
