Overview

This position is for a Welder 2 at Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company. The role involves performing various welding operations on a weekend day shift, contributing to the design and manufacture of aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently performs various operations in the welding standard work loops in the Finish End business unit.
  • Maintains required welding certifications.
  • Performs non-production welding tasks, such as laser weld and tack weld.
  • Works from operation sheets, drawings, verbal, and other pertinent instructions to obtain specified equipment, tools, and gages to weld parts.
  • Uses a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
  • Recognizes indications of weld results which vary from specified part quality and takes action to correct deficiencies in weld geometry.
  • Performs routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions.
  • Refers difficulties to Team Lead and/or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • 1+ years GTAW (TIG) Welding experience.
