Overview

The Large Pole Fitter Welder position involves assembling products by tack welding various small parts to pole shafts under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assembles pole products by tack welding small components using GMAW and SAW processes.
• Positions shafts using a stationary turner and lifts components with a jib crane.
• Reads and interprets drawings to gather necessary parts for assembly.
• Cuts steel using a plasma torch and utilizes jigs for cutting holes in shafts.
• Measures distances and angles using measuring tools and performs basic calculations.
• Works in confined areas to accurately measure and assemble components.
• Operates motorized grinders, buffers, and drills to assist in product assembly.
• Maintains professional competencies and informs management of training needs.
• Keeps the workplace clean and organized while implementing LEAN practices.
• Sets up, operates, and performs maintenance on equipment.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write English.
• 3-5 years of experience fitting in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Ability to calculate simple mathematics and use common manufacturing mathematics.
• 3 years experience reading and using blueprints.
• 3 years previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment or graduation from a Technical Training Program focused on welding.
• Must pass FCAW, GMAW, and SAW weld tests and maintain certification.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, prior experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Additional Information

• Starting pay rate is $28.72 - $29.95 per hour.
• 4th Shift Standard Schedule: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
• Additional hours outside of the standard schedule may be required based on business needs.
