Overview

The Welder position at Regal Rexnord involves performing setup on various welding components, requiring a high degree of skill and technique. The role is fully onsite and focuses on maintaining strict quality standards while working with different metals and alloys.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tig welding 90% of the time and mig welding 10% using multiple types of materials.
  • Work in teams of two Associates per project.
  • Properly set up welding machines.
  • Prepare for welding, which includes ripping and trimming various specs of wire belts.
  • Clean welds to check for imperfections.
  • Ensure accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, and inspection requirements.
  • Interpret work orders accurately and collaborate with co-workers and QA associates.
  • Work within the parameters of an estimate and work order.
  • Perform wire crimping and machine operating, with training provided.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information in small groups.
  • Common sense reasoning ability to carry out instructions in various forms.
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as a tape measure and occasionally a dial caliper.
  • Attention to all safety policies, programs, and practices.
  • Basic computer skills for reviewing and performing shop orders.

  • Day Shift: Tuesday - Friday (5:00 am - 3:30 pm).
  • Initial training may be Mon-Fri for 30-60 days or less.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process.
