Overview

The Engineering Technician - Junior/Entry Level position at Shinkei involves a hands-on role in building and integrating production machines. Technicians are responsible for executing work from engineering documentation, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality and production standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Support the build, integration, debugging, and testing of robotic subsystems, production hardware, and test fixtures.
  • Assist with assembly of actuators, structures, fluid systems, harnesses, and other electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform harness builds, rework, and routing for development and production units.
  • Assist with troubleshooting assemblies and root-cause investigations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized lab and production environment and help manage tools and spare inventory.
  • Support field deployments and hardware upgrades.
  • Work with the Production Coordinator to meet build timelines and production goals.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to bring prototypes to life.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication.
  • Ability or willingness to learn how to read mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and harness diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Comfort working with or willingness to learn about motors, actuators, sensors, PCBAs, and wiring.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Proactive, dependable, and willing to take ownership of assigned work.
  • Willingness to learn on the job, ask questions, and apply feedback.
