Overview
Medical Murray is seeking a passionate engineering student for an R&D Engineering Co-op/Internship in Spring 2027, offering a unique opportunity to work on medical device innovation and contribute to life-saving product development.
Responsibilities
- Follow the Quality Management System and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with all projects.
- Engage in the development and engineering of disposable medical devices from concept to production.
- Participate in hands-on product and process development, including the design and prototyping of catheters and other disposable products.
- Utilize SolidWorks to design devices and construct prototypes in the laboratory environment.
- Collaborate on designing catheter-based delivery systems for various medical disciplines.
- Support the acquisition, setup, and qualification of new equipment, contributing to preventive maintenance procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers about project status and issues.
- Prepare and assist in product development and quality planning, including project schedules and resource allocation.
- Participate in feasibility and reliability testing plans for catheter systems.
- Assist in the development of pilot and manufacturing equipment and procedures.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with disposable design and development, materials knowledge, and prototyping is a plus.
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CAD programs.
