Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic role involves performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to ensure efficient operation. The position is with USG, a leader in producing innovative building products and systems since 1902.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Become familiar with the plant work order system.
  • Adhere to plant storeroom procedures and operational rules.
  • Use hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, and fall restraint.
  • Work as part of a team to achieve required results.
  • Participate in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adapt to scheduling requirements including shift work and overtime.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform assigned repair and servicing tasks.
  • Willingness to work the assigned schedule.
  • Demonstrate understanding of all plant and departmental safety rules.
  • Meet the essential physical requirements of the position.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision.
  • Maintain a set of personal tools as specified in the operator rate program.

Additional Information

  • 8-hour work schedule with mandatory overtime.
  • Day shift – 7a-3p, 2nd shift – 3p-11p, Night shift – 11p-7a.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday with regular Saturday work.
