Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Cable & Wire Harness Assembly Technician with specialized experience in micro-miniature interconnect systems to join our team in the Greater Philadelphia area. This hands-on role involves building, terminating, and testing complex, high-density wire harnesses utilizing Micro-D connectors and ultra-fine gauge wiring, requiring exceptional manual dexterity and precision craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Build complex, high-reliability wire harnesses and cable assemblies using Micro-D and subminiature connectors according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Perform high-density micro-crimping, pin insertion/extraction, and micro-soldering on ultra-fine wire gauges (typically 26 to 32 AWG).
• Apply specialized epoxy potting compounds and install backshells, braided shielding (EMI/RFI), and heavy-duty heat shrink to meet harsh-environment requirements.
• Utilize microscopes and high-power magnifying lenses for extended periods to ensure precise contact alignment, soldering integrity, and defect-free assemblies.
• Conduct functional testing (continuity, insulation resistance, and dielectric withstanding voltage) using automated harness testers, multi-meters, and pull-test equipment.
• Maintain strict compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 specifications.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in high-reliability cable and harness assembly, with a focus on Micro-D connector systems.
• Current or recent certifications in IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Class 3 preferred) and/or J-STD-001.
• Demonstrated mastery of micro-crimping tools, wire stripping machinery, and precision soldering irons.
• Must be a 'U.S. Person' as defined by ITAR and EAR regulations.

• Ability to sit or stand at an assembly workstation for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
