Overview

GSK is a global biopharma company focused on uniting science, technology, and talent to advance health. The Process Mechanic role involves performing maintenance and repairs on biopharmaceutical process equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair process systems to assure continuous production operations.
  • Maintain and repair sanitary valves, agitation systems, pumps, and other sterile equipment.
  • Familiar with PLCs and distributed control systems and their interaction with process equipment.
  • Use schematics to diagnose electrical control and motor circuits.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on process equipment.
  • Make recommendations for maintenance tasks and operational changes.
  • Identify spare parts and consumables necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Perform metal fabrication tasks as necessary.
  • Inspect, replace, align, adjust, and lubricate mechanical system components.
  • Perform tasks requiring entry into tight spaces inside a bioreactor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 2+ years of experience in maintaining and/or troubleshooting industrial process or utility equipment.
  • Experience in administrative tasks.
  • GMP or processing experience.
  • Ability to work in very tight, narrow, confined spaces.
