Overview

CTDI is a large-scale Engineering, Repair, and Logistics company that services major telecommunications and cable providers in the U.S. The Robotics Engineer role involves supporting the design, development, integration, and improvement of automated robotic systems in production and test environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and modify mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Assist with integration and deployment of robotic automated solutions.
  • Develop, debug, and maintain control and application code for robotic systems.
  • Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
  • Assist in evaluating system performance and implementing improvements.
  • Design and fabricate basic fixtures, brackets, and tooling.
  • Support integration of vision systems, sensors, and electric actuators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Contribute to documentation of designs, procedures, and system changes.
  • Work in both office and lab/warehouse environments.

Requirements

  • Foundational experience with robotic or automated systems.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial robotic arms or automation equipment.
  • Basic experience with PLCs, industrial controls, or automation software.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Exposure to sensors, actuators, and embedded hardware integration.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, C++, or Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
