Overview

Inglis enables people with disabilities and those who care for them to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. The Engineer 1 position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of the physical plant, including HVAC systems and facility mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular testing, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure the safety and efficiency of all electrical systems within the facility.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on high-pressure vessels.
  • Perform general carpentry, painting, and other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High school education / GED or Trade School required.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in plant engineering or related field preferred.
  • General knowledge of Life Safety Code and National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must meet general health requirements set forth by the facility.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license without restriction may be required.
