Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment at water and wastewater facilities under the supervision of experienced staff. This role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and quality control to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Industrial Technician Maintenance staff in daily work schedules.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and recommend changes in mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems and recommend corrective actions based on mechanical repair practices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repair work on facilities and equipment.
  • Fabricate and machine repair parts for equipment.
  • Weld steel, brass, and aluminum.
  • Operate lathes, mill/drill presses, welders, and various metalworking tools.
  • Locate leaks and detect defects in equipment and machinery.
  • Monitor and validate work practices for quality control and safety standards.
  • Input and gather data from the SCADA system and run reports as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience in construction, maintenance, electrical, electronics, or process control.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
