Overview

The Fabrication Laborer position at Century Fire Protection involves supporting shop fabrication operations by assisting with the preparation, assembly, and finishing of materials and components. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean and safe work environment while adhering to production schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the fabrication and assembly of materials, components, and products according to specifications.
  • Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished products within the shop.
  • Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment under supervision.
  • Perform measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring as needed.
  • Support skilled fabricators and welders with setup and material staging.
  • Inspect materials for defects and report quality or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Follow work orders, drawings, and verbal instructions accurately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read basic measurements and follow instructions.
  • Basic computer skills, including email.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
