Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic Spec I is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair work across various systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. This role also involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and providing guidance to other maintenance staff while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled maintenance and repair work in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, steam control, and related systems.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems with assigned equipment and buildings.
• Operates various equipment to diagnose, repair, and maintain systems.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and technical documents to locate problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems.
• Monitors equipment and building systems for reliable operations.
• Provides guidance to maintenance mechanics and assists with work assignments.
• Schedules and directs workflow to maintain efficient services.
• Observes and reviews work to maintain quality and compliance.
• Provides training and instruction for staff on maintenance work.
• Maintains records and files in accordance with standards.
• Practices safety regulations and uses personal protective equipment.
• Responds to customer requests and complaints in a timely manner.
