Overview

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Specialist III to support and oversee equipment, patient care, and sustainability within its facilities management team. The role involves ensuring the proper operation of building systems and providing guidance to maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Licensed skilled, trained and certified in one of the competency areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, steam control, and related building systems and equipment.
  • Practicing under the guidance of a licensed professional and providing guidance to maintenance mechanics.
  • Interpreting departmental and organizational policies and procedures for staff.
  • Picking up and distributing work assignments and giving direction to ensure work orders are completed accurately and timely.
  • Scheduling, monitoring, and directing workflow.
  • Observing and reviewing work produced by staff to maintain efficiency and timely services.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, schematics, and written technical documents to locate areas of trouble and complete repairs accurately.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on related equipment, buildings, and building systems.
  • Shutting down equipment prior to scheduled repairs if necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in building maintenance with supportive licensure or degree in building maintenance OR 20 years of experience in one or more of the competency areas.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record may be required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist may be required.
