Overview

We are searching for an experienced Welder at our Cincinnati, OH - Plant facility.

Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired.
  • Plan sequence of fabrication and assembly operations to be performed.
  • Perform basic welding skills and adjust welders to material being welded.
  • Select clamps and use jigs, fixtures, flame cut, plasma cut, and drill material as required by the project.
  • Grind and polish steel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and one to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
  • Must be able to Mig and Tig weld.
  • Must be able to grind and polish steel.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must have knowledge of and experience using basic hand tools and machinery.
  • Must be able to obtain fork truck certification.
  • Fluent in English, including ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of fractions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
