Siemens is a certified Great Place to Work® that creates an environment where innovation thrives. As a Welder I, you will support the fabrication of stainless-steel car bodies for rail vehicles in a dynamic production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stainless steel welding, fitting, tacking, and assembly of passenger rail car bodies and subassemblies using detailed drawings and advanced welding equipment.
  • Ensure all welds, assemblies, and finished products meet established welding standards and quality requirements.
  • Inspect and repair fabrication defects while maintaining exceptional workmanship.
  • Safely operate welding, hand, and power tools while adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Complete required work order and quality documentation and track labor hours.

Requirements

  • High school education or GED.
  • 3-5 years MIG welding experience with emphasis on Stainless Steel or completion of accredited weld education program and 2 years MIG welding experience.
  • General mechanical background.
  • Basic English skills to read and understand written instructions and communicate verbally.

Additional Information

  • This position has various shift needs.
  • Candidates will be subject to a background check, drug screen, Pulmonary Function Test, and Respirator Fit Test.
  • The position is located in Sacramento, CA.
  • The starting hourly rate is $23.01 plus shift differentials of 10% for 2nd shift and 20% for 3rd shift.
