Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks using various tools.
  • Support production as needed and work overtime and weekends if required.
  • Participate in continual self-improvement and enhance job knowledge.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding Certification from an accredited college.
  • Respiratory Fit Test Certification, or obtain within three months of hire.
  • Basic proficiency in computer, math, reading, and measurement.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, and LSS preferred.
  • Ability to follow established safety protocols.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Self-starter and team player with good safety awareness.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to use all fabrication and welding tools.
  • Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other heavy equipment.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
