Overview

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. The Welder position focuses on welding processes for Starship launch hardware during night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes on various materials.
  • Cut, trim, fit, and fabricate weldments to dimensions for assembly.
  • Collaborate with lead welder to assess proper weld procedures and materials.
  • Review engineering drawings to plan welding operations.
  • Continuously improve operations and streamline work processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 1+ years of experience welding in a fabrication environment with FCAW or GTAW.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in GTAW welding with SCH 10 stainless or carbon steel pipe.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in FCAW welding with stainless or carbon steel.
  • Previous welding qualifications in accordance with AWS or ASME codes.
  • Highly proficient in tube/pipe cutting, grinding, and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of DC, GTAW welding techniques, and engineering requirements.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Experience in overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing roles in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral.
  • Ability to work Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday night shifts.
  • Available for overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform various physical tasks.
  • Able to work outdoors in high heat and humidity.
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

What you'll be running
