Overview

Crown Technical Systems, a Flex Company, is a leader in power distribution and protection systems, specializing in customized, turn-key solutions. They are looking to add a Structural Welder to their team in Fontana, CA, to support their production efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Plan details of work order procedures and gather required tools and materials.
  • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.
  • Weld structural steel (c-channels) in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Clamp, hold, or tack weld parts to obtain required configurations.
  • Determine required equipment and welding techniques.
  • Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
  • Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or 2+ years’ experience in dual shield welding process.
  • Certification required: AWS D1.1 FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding).
  • Reading comprehension skills to interpret written directions, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements.
  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the FCAW process for structural welding.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to make jigs and setups.
  • Overhead crane operation a plus.
