Overview

Wunderlich-Malec (WM) is a 100% employee-owned engineering company in the United States, currently seeking a Welder Structural Fabricator for their Baldwin, FL facility. This key role involves producing equipment for engineered systems through modular building assembly and mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate modular control buildings from custom steel bases to wall/roof assembly.
  • Properly layout mechanical equipment within the modular building.
  • Assemble mechanical equipment according to WM standards and engineered drawings.
  • Assemble, install, and mount electrical and mechanical equipment within modular control buildings.
  • Visually locate components and determine proper clearances.
  • Label and document component identification and location.
  • Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area daily.
  • Review BOM to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly.
  • Use industrial tools such as welders, grinders, and forklifts safely.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and use personal protective equipment.
  • Work with the Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager to understand assembly requirements and project timelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Industrial/Mechanical field or related Military experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of mechanical and/or fabrication experience for Staff Technician Level; 5-10 years for Lead Technician Level.
  • Strong preference for AWS welding experience and certifications.
  • Strong preference for CWI certification.
  • Ability to read mechanical/fabrication drawings and details.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in working effectively with a team of engineers.
  • Familiarity with personal computers for administrative tasks.
  • Working knowledge of safety requirements in the assembly area.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
