Overview

Maverick Power is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team, focusing on the mechanical design of medium voltage switchgear enclosures and assemblies. The company is recognized for its innovative power distribution solutions and is rapidly expanding with multiple facilities in North Texas and Phoenix.

Responsibilities

  • Own the mechanical design of components and assemblies from concept through production release.
  • Perform engineering analysis and calculations to validate designs against customer specifications.
  • Interpret customer submittals and industry standards to determine design requirements.
  • Develop and release 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs in SolidWorks.
  • Evaluate design issues and non-conformances raised by production.
  • Evaluate, select, and qualify purchased and outsourced components.
  • Review and approve the work of mechanical designers, providing technical direction.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes and practices.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and design for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing standards, including GD&T and tolerances.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent engineering judgment.
