Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic Lead (BCS) is responsible for overseeing junior-level staff, assigning maintenance tasks, and ensuring work is completed to quality standards. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as maintaining production machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of work conducted by junior-level staff and review/audit work for accuracy.
  • Assign maintenance tasks to staff, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed according to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Track maintenance costs and manage parts inventory and work orders effectively.
  • Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
  • Perform electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures.
  • Maintain the organization's production equipment.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders.
  • Perform building repairs and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Update and maintain shift schedules in the time and attendance system and enter attendance transactions.
  • Coach, guide, and train junior mechanics and maintenance technicians.
