Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company focused on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Small Parts Welder Helper will assist in moving materials and reworking component parts under the direction of the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Comply 100% with PPE requirements and participate in department safety.
  • Clean and grind parts as needed and cut metals to predetermined sizes.
  • Use common shop manufacturing math for calculations.
  • Determine the center of an object using measuring skills.
  • Perform operator preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Safely use overhead crane to position product for welding or grinding.
  • Follow direction from Shop Supervisor and Lead Person.
  • Perform routing machine operations and assist workers.
  • Pass a 1G v-groove weld test using GMAW.
  • Safely operate band saw for cutting raw material.

Requirements

  • Must pass Valmont endorsed 1G flat weld certification test.
  • Six months of previous hands-on welding experience.
  • Proficient in math including fractions and decimals.
  • Able to accurately read a measuring tape.
  • Maintain high awareness for safety.
  • Read, write, and/or speak English.
  • Positive communication and interaction with coworkers.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Person of passion and integrity with drive to excel.

Additional Information

  • Days 1st Shift Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3PM.
  • Work hours may be required outside the standard shift schedule.
