Overview

Gardner Denver Transport provides equipment for efficiently transferring bulk material and has expanded into various applications including specialized transport and electric compressor packages for e-mobility vehicles. The role involves setting up and operating CNC laser cutting and press brake machinery to manufacture components according to production requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines.
• Program, adjust, and optimise machine settings for efficient production.
• Set and operate CNC press brakes to produce components to specification.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform routine quality checks using measuring equipment.
• Select appropriate tooling and machine parameters for various materials.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and daily operational checks.
• Deburr, finish, and inspect fabricated components as required.
• Assist with fabrication, assembly, and welding preparation activities.
• Minimise scrap and rework through adherence to quality procedures.
• Report production issues, equipment faults, and quality concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Support continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity.
• Work closely with engineering, planning, and production teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC laser cutting machinery.
• Proven experience setting and operating CNC press brake machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Experience within a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of measuring equipment, including verniers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Understanding of manufacturing tolerances and quality standards.
• Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Apprenticeship or engineering/manufacturing qualification.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software.
• Experience programming laser cutting or press brake machinery.
• FLT (Forklift Truck) licence.
• Overhead crane experience.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
