Overview

Airgas is seeking a Lead Plant Maintenance Technician in Santa Fe Springs, CA, to repair and maintain facilities, buildings, machinery, and equipment used in gas compression and liquefaction. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and technical support while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain facilities, buildings, machinery, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide technical support and resolve inquiries.
  • Conduct periodic plant inspections to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Lead and support region-wide projects for installation and repair of equipment.
  • Perform post-installation operational testing and conduct training.
  • Inspect and maintain pumping apparatus, tanks, and valves.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve underlying issues.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
  • Contribute to additional relevant tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, and pumps in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift.
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plant operations equipment.
  • Working knowledge of facilities, machines, and equipment.
  • Brazing certificate or boiler license preferred.
  • At least one year of knowledge and experience of arc and gas welding.
  • Competent in plumbing, carpentry, and masonry work.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is helpful.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
