Overview

Legacy Placement Partners is partnering with a leading commercial mechanical contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth area to identify an experienced Piping Foreman. This hands-on field leadership position requires an experienced pipefitter to lead crews while participating in the installation and completion of mechanical piping systems on large commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise piping crews on large commercial construction projects.
• Plan daily manpower, work assignments, materials, tools, and installation activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and piping layouts.
• Lay out and coordinate mechanical piping installations in the field.
• Fabricate and install piping systems including copper, steel, stainless steel, and grooved/Victaulic piping.
• Install piping, valves, fittings, hangers, supports, and related mechanical components.
• Coordinate piping installations with other trades and project teams.
• Identify field conflicts and communicate RFIs or coordination issues to project leadership.
• Monitor workmanship to ensure installations meet project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
• Perform and oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and corrective work.
• Manage crew productivity and help ensure project schedules and milestones are achieved.
• Complete required safety documentation, including JHAs.
• Conduct daily safety planning and reinforce jobsite safety requirements.
• Track crew time and ensure labor is assigned to the appropriate project codes.
• Maintain accurate as-built information and project documentation.
• Mentor apprentices, journeymen, and other members of the piping crew.
• Communicate daily with project management, field supervision, fabrication/shop teams, and other trades.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial mechanical piping/pipefitting experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Pipefitter, or senior-level Journeyman strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate a field crew.
• Strong experience with large commercial mechanical piping systems.
• Experience with chilled water, condenser water, hydronic, heating water, and related HVAC/mechanical piping systems highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of copper, steel, stainless steel, grooved/Victaulic, and related piping systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, mechanical drawings, and piping layouts.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication, fitting, installation, hangers, supports, valves, and system testing.
• Ability to plan manpower, materials, tools, and daily work activities.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction safety requirements.
• OSHA 10 preferred.
• Experience working on large-scale healthcare, data center/mission critical, higher education, commercial, or industrial projects is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas as required.
