Overview

We’re partnering with an early-stage space technology company developing a new class of highly maneuverable spacecraft for demanding commercial and national-security missions. The team is building complex flight hardware at pace, and they’re looking for a Structures Design Engineer to take significant ownership of the vehicle’s structural and fluid hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own structural and mechanical hardware through design, analysis, manufacturing, testing and integration.
• Develop lightweight metallic structures, pressure-related hardware and supporting mechanical systems.
• Perform first-principles calculations and detailed structural analysis/FEA to support design decisions.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams, technicians and suppliers to turn designs into tested flight hardware.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in aerospace structures, mechanical design or a closely related discipline.
• Experience designing and testing complex aerospace hardware, ideally within launch vehicles, propulsion or high-performance flight systems.
• Strong CAD and FEA capability, with experience using tools such as ANSYS or equivalent.
• Engineering degree with the ability to work independently and take technical ownership of hardware.
