Overview

Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, is one of the largest fleet maintenance companies in the country, providing on-site mobile maintenance and repair services for various types of trucks and trailers. They are currently hiring a Shop Diesel Technician II to support the company's growth, responsible for performing DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and various repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform licensed DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Conduct light mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.
  • Independently determine parts required for each job.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work with Service Writer to assess customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Document work performed and findings according to company standards.
  • Communicate with Shop Manager regarding repair estimates and findings.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment.
  • Assist Shop Diesel Technician I with diagnostics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Valid state-of-residence driver's license required.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to determine necessary tools and equipment.
