Overview

The Welder is responsible for welding and fabricating metal components used in the assembly of utility and equipment trailers, ensuring that welds meet quality standards and safety requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on MIG welding experience and can work efficiently in a high-production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding to assemble steel trailers
  • Fabricate frames, tongues, and related components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding specifications
  • Inspect welded joints to ensure structural integrity and compliance with specifications
  • Set up welding equipment and adjust settings based on material type and thickness
  • Use grinders, clamps, and measuring tools to align and prepare parts
  • Perform quality checks and rework welds when necessary
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelines
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures

Requirements

  • MIG welding experience required
  • 1+ year in manufacturing or trailer-building preferred
  • Pass a weld test upon hire
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including overtime, different shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Experience using an acetylene torch and plasma tools
  • Must be open-minded, able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions
