Overview

The Welder Day Shift position at WM involves applying appropriate welds to fabricate or repair compactors, containers, and carts under general supervision. WM is committed to creating opportunities for employees and fostering a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs minor repairs and applies basic welding processes.
  • Repairs compactors, containers, and carts.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Qualified in various welding processes including arc welding and gas welding.
  • Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers.
  • Completes required paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
  • Assists senior welders with project work.
  • Performs service calls for compactor repair.
  • Engages in related work such as flame cutting and bending of materials.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • 1 year of previous welding experience.
  • Experience with Stick Welding.
  • Recent Technical School graduate preferred.

Additional Information

  • Pay Range: $24.00+BOE
  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 6am start time, Some Saturdays
  • Boot Allowance: $150 twice per year
  • Tool Allowance: $250 quarterly
