The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily metal fabrication operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while leading a team of fabrication employees.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership to maintain a zero-incident safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies, OSHA requirements, and safe material-handling practices.
- Supervise daily fabrication operations involving various metallic materials.
- Translate production schedules into clear priorities for operators.
- Monitor production performance and adjust resources as needed.
- Ensure fabricated components are delivered to downstream operations on schedule.
- Ensure quality compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Lead continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize production disruption.
- Conduct daily management meetings and maintain KPI tracking.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–5+ years of hands-on experience in a precision fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Mastercam.
- Knowledge of metalworking techniques including CNC machining and laser cutting.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and GD&T.
