Overview

Airgas is seeking a Generator Technician in Chicago, IL, to repair and maintain engine-driven power generators and welding equipment. The company values diversity and offers a supportive workplace with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain engine-driven power generators.
  • Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental.
  • Test and calibrate machines for functionality.
  • Perform paint touch-ups and replace worn decals on equipment.
  • Replace defective parts and complete required preventative maintenance.
  • Inspect returned generator equipment for operation and damage.
  • Operate necessary equipment to load and unload equipment.
  • Document all repairs and maintenance.
  • Service equipment and customers off-site.
  • Maintain communication with branch personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • A valid driver license and good driving record.
  • Working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment preferred.
  • Diesel engine knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with PLC engine and generator controllers preferred.
