Overview

Dallas College is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Lab Specialist to support its Welding and Advanced Manufacturing programs. This role involves maintaining welding labs and equipment while mentoring students in a hands-on learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operation of welding labs and instructional workspaces.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Perform inventory management and assist with purchasing requests.
  • Support preventative maintenance and arrange repairs for equipment.
  • Train students on proper equipment use and safety practices.
  • Assist faculty with lab setup and instructional support.
  • Monitor lab activities to ensure a clean and productive environment.
  • Serve as a technical resource for students and faculty.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment and software issues.
  • Maintain an engaging learning environment that reflects industry standards.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of welding equipment and laboratory safety practices.
  • Experience in welding, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
