Overview

Virgin Galactic is seeking a highly motivated Structures Technician to support our Manufacturing team in Mesa, focusing on safety and risk management in human spaceflight. The role involves unique bonding and assembly processes for spaceship airframes and aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble composite parts and assemblies of varying complexities and sizes.
  • Utilize shop tools and machinery safely, including drills, die grinders, and calipers.
  • Drill a variety of hole sizes in composite and metal structures.
  • Work hands-on with multiple fastener types.
  • Support the manufacturing team in installation, design, development, and testing.
  • Adhere to assembly instructions for accurate completion of complex project assemblies.
  • Practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness.
  • Collaborate to achieve goals and complete assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a technician in an aerospace or equivalent high-reliability field.
  • Experience with hands-on aircraft manufacturing with composite and/or metallic airframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications to follow manufacturing work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and/or models.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: 4/10 Onsite Monday through Thursday Night Shift (4:00pm – 2:30am).
  • Potential Future Work Schedules include Day Shifts.
