Overview

The City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department is seeking a Welder I, an entry/journey level position in the welding series, for skilled welding and pipefitting work in water system construction and maintenance activities, with opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled welding and pipefitting work in various water system construction and maintenance activities.
  • Lead a small work crew.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED/equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of journey level welding experience.
  • Journey level knowledge of water distribution and transmission pipelines.
  • Possession of a valid California Class 'C' driver's license.

Additional Information

  • Must be clean shaven or have trimmed facial hair to use personal respirators.
  • Must pass a respirator medical exam and be physically able to wear respirator equipment.
